For the LORD comforts Zion; he comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song. (Isaiah 51:3 ESV)

Poetry is a very strong form of communication. It is the basis for any great song and a format that we can easily memorize. Perhaps it is impossible to define what is "great poetry", but you know it when you find it. However, even mediocre poetry can serve a vital purpose and answer a special need. It can be therapeutic, cathartic, and restorative for the soul.
This section of MDM4M is meant to serve both the reader and the writer of the poetry published. I'm going to post the first several pieces, not because I am a poet, in fact because I am not. My hope is that you will be encouraged to not only write, but also to submit your poetry for publication. I think that if you look at my stuff you'll say to yourself, "Hey, I can do better than that!"
Topics for poems will not be limited, nor content except to stay within the bounds of good taste and a PG rating. Obviously, a Christian bent is preferred, but overtly Christian themes are not required, as you'll see. Please include a short, biographical blurb about the poet and a name under which it should be published. Send to poetry@mdm4m.com. We will also have an area on our feed back forums for discussion of what is posted here.
First, a piece simply entitled Home. I've heard it said that there's no going home again, but that's hard to understand until you experience it.
For those frustrated in the attempt to write what you feel, read On Poetics.
My Office I wrote because sometimes making light of what frustrates us is helpful.
Wednesday Night November is just snips of memory from fall evenings during my young childhood, aged about four to seven.
