SHOCK. Eyes wide open! Muscles moving toward him
instinctively. Quickly drop the camera, GET IN THERE.
JUMP. No time to panic or even think...
Within 3 seconds I was holding my son's body above water,
anxiously awaiting his next breath. "Breathe, boy.
GOD HELP ME. Breathe, Shea." A blast of air mixed
with water came tumbling out of his lungs. I was
relieved, scared, anxious, many other emotions - all
wrapped in one. No words could express my complete
gratitude for sparing Shea's life.
Shea learned a respect for the water. It did not happen
again.
In the spirit, God rescues us, and usually several
times. I can remember a time when I drifted into deep
waters. I fell out of my inner tube thingy and the water
quickly overtook me. I was flailing my arms, but in my
immaturity I was not capable of swimming. And God, who
is above all and beyond all, had the time and since of
urgency to reach down from on high and take hold of me,
drawing me out of the deep waters.
He rescued me.
