Hollywood Hell House

Another example of Hollywood slamming Christians!

Hollywood once again decides to spoof Christian beliefs about hell. Bill Maher (playing Satan) and Andy Richter (playing Jesus) are staring in a new stage production starting Aug 28 called Hollywood Hell House. It is a spoof of the original Hell House which is a controversial play created by Rev. Keenan Roberts in 1995. The original Hell House is a play that is designed to literally 'scare the Hell' out of people.

Maggie Rowe, the producer of Hollywood Hell House, purchased the script and stage instructions from Rev. Roberts after telling Roberts that she was representing a youth group (side note: the name of the play's production company is called Youth Group). Rowe said that they will be using the original scripts "to lampoon fundamentalist beliefs about hell" and that "It will be a parody of itself. It will be very funny. We're having a hoot".

It is nice to see that once again, Hollywood decides that is will be a 'hoot' to poke fun at Christian beliefs. How appropriate is it that Bill Maher, the outspoken critic of Christian beliefs, is playing Satan. In this writers opinion, they could not have picked a better person. Have you heard about this in the main press? Or are you hearing about this for the first time here? Now, imagine if there was a play that was released poking fun at Mohammed, or Buddha, or any other religious faith? There would be an outcry about this play stating that it was teaching intolerance, hatred and bigotry! But should this surprise us? It shouldn't. In John 15:19 Jesus said, "If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you" (italics added).
Just another example of how Hollywood continues to bash and 'lampoon' Christian beliefs and gets away with it.
