What led you to take the risk?

Well, really I just went for it. I knew that the circumstances were too bizarre to be anything but the Lord. Still, it certainly wasn't an easy decision. The thought of leaving my family and moving to a new city was difficult. Also, when you live in a big city, there is an underlying pressure to go with flow: school-college-job-etc... You know, just going with the mainstream. So at the time I left, I really did wonder if I was doing the right thing. At that time the Newsboys had very little crew and support. So it was A LOT of hard work. We would pull into a city at 8 a.m. and immediately jump out of the bus and start working. I was in charge of half the light show. Everyone had their own jobs and we would work like dogs setting up all day, play the show, sign autographs, meet everybody, pack it all down again until 2 a.m., and drive all night ourselves. At that time I was getting paid about $200 a week.
