e : a changeover in use or preference especially in technology
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. (I Corinthians 13:11)
"As I smell You for the first time all over again
I begin to remember to be alive
So if You don't mind
I think I'll wear my heart on my sleeve
Cause I'm tired of not being able to bleed"

I just completed an interview with an artist who is releasing a CD
entitled, "All Things New". (By the way, that interview will be a
September Modern Disciple feature, for those of you playing the
home game.) We had a great discussion about how God makes all
things new, in ways that we could not even begin to imagine. One
of the things that he brought up was a recent study that showed
that the majority of people are bored with life in general and
long to fill in that boredom. Hmmm…
We have access to more information and entertainment, even
"infotainment", through the internet (which you are on right now),
satellite TV, Tivo, Xbox, etc. Yet we are bored. Why does this
not make sense?
Perhaps it is because of the God-shaped hole that we all have.
Artists like U2 and Plumb have pointed to this hole for years. The
beauty is, that is not where the story ends.
We have 24hour direct access to God who makes all things new all
the time. That is what He does. Isn't that the good news of the
Gospel?
The Christian that I was ten years ago is not the Christian that I
am today nor the Christian that I will be ten years from now. Due
to the fact that He gradually reveals to me the Mystery of who He
is, I do not have the pressure of having to have all the answers
right - I am always learning and growing with Him. And as Blindside
puts it, I think I'll wear my heart on my sleeve, because I am
tired of not being able to bleed.
The Revolution continues when we can be honest with God, ourselves
and those watching, to admit that we desperately need a God who
brings a changeover and truly makes all things new.
